Woman turns tables on vicious home intruder by pulling gun on him

BARGERSVILLE, Ind. (WXIN) – A Johnson County woman is alive after a terrifying home invasion late Thursday night into Friday morning.

She said a man followed her into her home, fought with her, and threw her down on the bed. But she turned the tables on him when she picked up her husband’s gun.

Jackie Alexander’s been a registered nurse for two decades, so she’s pretty tough. And though she’s still scared, she lived to tell the story.

“For eight years I’ve felt safe enough to walk out my front door at 2 a.m. if need be,” said Alexander, “That sense of safety is gone.”

Alexander took her dog Chloe out to use the bathroom around midnight. Her husband was at work, and she was home alone. She said she saw a man walking down the sidewalk, and then he came into her yard.

“I put my hand up and said, stop, excuse me. He did not stop,” she said.

Colt’s Manufacturing Company announced its first M4-style rifle with a mid-length gas system. Called the Colt Combat Unit carbine, this new gun features a number of popular features in addition to the mid-length system. The gun’s SKU is LE6960-CCU.

“Producing a mid-length gas system was the logical next-step for us, and it’s long overdue,” said Justin Baldini, Director of Product Marketing for Colt. “Shooters will find that by moving the gas block closer to the muzzle as this mid-length gas system does, the felt recoil is more constant with what is fielded by our troops carrying a 14.5” barrel M4.”

Gun Control Supporter Steals Concealed Carrier’s Gun, Shoots Him

An apparent gun control supporter was enraged to see a (poorly) concealed handgun on another man one afternoon last week in Overland Park, Kansas, and apparently lost his sanity.

A 59-year-old Overland Park man was charged Thursday with shooting another man in the leg after taking a gun away from the victim.

Ricky Paul Smith was charged in Johnson County District Court with aggravated battery. He also was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly pointing the gun at another man.

Overland Park police said the incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near 80th Street and Overland Park Drive.

Police said Smith was allegedly upset about another man carrying a concealed weapon. He took the gun away from the man, pointed it at him and another man, and shot the victim in the leg, according to the allegations.

Mr. Smith is very luck that he’s not facing additional charges for robbery and attempted murder.

Both open and concealed carry of handguns are legal in Kansas, and there is no suggestion that the victim in this incident did anything suggesting that he was acting in a threatening manner. He appears to have simply done a poor job of concealing his handgun.

Why Do You Need A Gun In A Wal-Mart Parking Lot?

A recent episode of armed self-defense in Minnesota is a perfect example of how gun-ban advocates’ lies about “good guys with guns” are just that—lies.

Anti-gunners and their enablers in the so-called “mainstream” media like to do things like compare the number of murders to the number of criminals killed in self-defense shootings to make their incorrect point that armed citizens never stop criminals. In fact, Shannon Watts, head of Michael Bloomberg’s Demanding Moms, once said in a CNN interview regarding the concept of a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun: “This has never happened. Data shows it doesn’t happen.”

That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Consider the Minnesota example mentioned earlier.

A St. Cloud man and his wife were walking through a Wal-Mart parking lot last Wednesday night when a man walked up behind them with a baseball bat. He yelled at the couple, then asked them if they had “ever been hit in the head with a bat.”

The couple ignored him and continued toward their vehicle, but then heard the suspect take a deep breath. Turning and seeing the assailant with his bat raised to strike, the man pulled his concealed handgun, prompting the wannabe attacker to drop the bat and run away. Police later arrested 30-year-old Phillip Keys on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Hillary Clinton: ‘Incomprehensible’ that Gun Makers Aren’t Liable for Misuse of Stolen Guns

On Friday morning Connecticut Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis struck down the Sandy Hook families’ lawsuit against Remington Arms; a suit that was filed after a legally made and sold AR-15 was stolen from its owner and used to kill innocents at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Hillary Clinton responded to the dismissal of the suit by calling it “incomprehensible” and reaffirmed her determination to change laws so that crime victims can sue gun manufacturers.

Armed veteran fights off attacker during violent home invasion

A 66-year-old Army veteran shot a man who tried to force his way inside his house in Akron, Ohio, on Monday.

Craig Noggle said his neighbor, Daniel Givens, showed up at his door, knocked and then ran away. But when Givens returned for a second time, he knew something wasn’t right and then he found Givens trying to force his way inside.

“You try to come in through this door, I’m gonna shoot you,” Noggle told reporters, describing the incident. “He said, ‘Yeah, where’s the gun?’ and I picked it up. I said, ‘This is the gun and you’re gonna get shot.’”

Wikileaks Release: Hillary Clinton Press Sec Says Gun Control to Be Implemented by Executive Order

The batch of emails released by Wikileaks on October 7 includes one in which Hillary Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon explained that Clinton “would support…closing the gun show loophole by executive order.”

Fallon also highlighted Clinton’s support of universal background checks–which have already failed in California, Colorado, Washington state, and Paris–and her support for a scenario wherein victims of crime would be able to sue gun manufacturers.

You don’t typically see guns at San Francisco tech confabs. The city itself saw its last gun store close in 2015. But on a sunny February morning, a ballroom at the Palace Hotel is filled with an unusual mix of engineers, veteran police officers, dot-com investors and gunsmiths. Some of them—mostly cops—are visibly packing.

We’re gathered for the 2016 International San Francisco Smart Gun Symposium, billed as a response to President Obama’s January remarks on gun safety. After citing gun accident statistics, Obama asked: “If we can set it up so you can’t unlock your phone unless you’ve got the right fingerprint, why can’t we do the same thing for our guns?” It’s a question Ron Conway, a co-sponsor of the symposium, is eager to answer. Conway is one of tech’s most influential angel investors, known for his early-stage backing of Google, Facebookand Airbnb. In recent years he has become San Francisco’s agitator in chief, fighting limits on short-term rentals, assembling an immigration-reform lobbying group and financing mayor Ed Lee’s campaign. Today’s cause: his Smart Tech Challenges Foundation, which is spending $1.5 million to spur development of firearm safety tech.

Gun-free Waffle House location robbed twice in 3 weeks

The chain of late-night hash brown and egg joints has long held a “no guns” policy but that hasn’t stopped a Georgia location from being repeatedly robbed at gunpoint.

Headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, the breakfast chain has some 2,100 locations in 25 states, primarily in the South, but robbers have targeted a restaurant in the Newnan area twice in the last month.

As reported by The Newnan-Times Herald, the McCollum-Sharpsburg location in Coweta County was targeted by two armed men around 11:20 p.m. Sunday night. While no customers were in the cafe, Troy Foles with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office reported one suspect placed a gun in the cook’s back and demanded her wallet, while a server opened the cash register.

The robbery netted $367.

Marines opt for the 9 mil over 45s for special operators

For Marine special operators, the never-ending debate over whether the 9mm or .45-caliber round is the more powerful bullet has been settled.
Previously, the classic .45-caliber Colt 1911 was one of three pistols that Raiders were allowed to carry, but now the 9mm Glock 19 is the only pistol that Marine special operators can take into battle, said Maj. Nick Mannweiler, a spokesman for Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command.
